Building
K–8 school building
Scope
Two condensing boilers, controls, venting & piping
Schedule
Summer break · ready before heating season
The Challenge
The school's original cast-iron boiler was inefficient, expensive to repair, and had no backup. If it failed in January, classrooms would go cold and the building would have to close.
Replacement had to happen during the ten-week summer break, with everything tested and running before the heating season began.
Our Solution
• Evaluated the building's actual heating load instead of matching the old boiler's size
• Replaced one oversized boiler with two right-sized condensing boilers for built-in redundancy
• New venting, pumps, and piping modifications in the mechanical room
• Modern controls with outdoor reset so the system uses only the heat it needs
• Combustion analysis, safety testing, and a staff walkthrough before handover
The Results
With two boilers, one can carry the building if the other ever needs service.
Condensing boilers and outdoor-reset controls burn far less fuel than the old atmospheric unit.
Installed, commissioned, and handed over before the first heating day.
